Windsor Tapestry - Tennyson
The design of 'Windsor Tennyson' dates from around 1790. Originally taken from a 17th-century silk tapestry, most likely used as a bed hanging, the motif incorporates wild birds, blossoming vines and sun-ripened grapes. Seemingly Portugese in origin, this beautifully woven tapestry delights the eye with its versatile colour palette of golden green enriched with jewel tones on a cotton cream ground.
The 'Windsor Tennyson' is a perfect fabric for all seasons, lending itself best to altar palls.
